
About Christina Noelle Lopez
South Texas Mariachi Festival 2025 Performer
Christina is a soprano from McAllen, Texas. She is a senior at UNT and studies under Stephen Morsheck under scholarship provided by the College of Music.
In previous summers Christina has participated in the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, the Opera Academy of Bodrum, and the Opera Bastide summer program.
At UNT, Christina has performed in Cendrillon in the fairy ensemble and first Knaben from Die Zauberflote. Additionally, she is a member of UNT’s baroque ensemble, Vox Aquilae. This semester Christina will be organizing her senior recital and performing the role of Ida from Die Fledermaus.
Vanessa Alonzo, a Houston native, began her mariachi music training at the age of twelve under the guidance of Alice Valdez and Alfonso Guerra at Multicultural Education and Counseling through the Arts (MECA).
Christina will perform at the South Texas Mariachi Festival as a guest artist! She will perform on Saturday, April 26th at 4 p.m. at the Vocal Grand Champion Competition Concert at Valley View High School, and at 7:30 p.m. at the Mariachi Under the Stars Gala to be held at the Old Jailhouse in Hidalgo, Texas.
