A favorite annual tradition, Mariachi Christmas was created by Noberta Fresquez from Albuquerque, New Mexico. This brilliant celebration with traditional Mexican Posadas ushers in the beautiful Yuletide season. The cheery music and charming dance, based on the faith and traditions found across Mexico, has lifted the spirits of audiences across New Mexico since 1999.

This is the second year this event comes to South Texas! We celebrate Mariachi Christmas 2025 in McAllen, Texas, featuring the award winning McAllen Mariachi Programs with ensembles from McAllen Memorial High School, Nikki Rowe High School, and McAllen High School.

From UTRGV, we will showcase Mariachi Juvenil Aztlán with the Ballet Folklórico UTRGV celebrating “Navidad Mexicana.” The nationally renowned Mariachi Aztlán from UTRGV closes the show with traditional mariachi and holiday favorites.
