Registration Fee
$40 Per Participant
The $40 fee includes the workshop, group competition, and one (1) gala concert ticket (seating only). Directors may attend all events free of charge.
Please note that the Mariachi Under the Stars Gala Dinner is a separate event and is not included in the registration. A Student Dinner Ticket with General Table Seating is available for an additional $20 per student.

Vocal Competition
Once registered, participants have the option to compete in the South Texas Mariachi Festival (STMF) Vocal Competition.
The registration fee for the Vocal Competition is $25 per entry and is separate from the group registration. Learn More About the Vocal Competition Here

Competition Rules
Performance Times
Middle School: 6 to 8 minutes
High School: 8 to 10 minutes
Open Category: 8 to 10 minutes
Rules and Regulations
- Groups may enter the following categories: High School Varsity (Classifications: 6A, 5A, 4A, 3A or 2A/1A), High School Junior Varsity 6A – 1A, Middle School, and Open Category. If there are not 2 or more groups in a single category, the groups will be moved up to the next category. Each category awards 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Vocal Competition Grand Champion, Middle School Mariachi First Place, High School Grand Champion, and Open Category First Place will perform in the concert.
- High School Groups and Open Category Groups are allowed to play from 8 to 10 minutes. Middle School Groups are allowed to play from 6 to 8 minutes.
- All members of the performing group must be registered for SOUTH TEXAS MUSIC MARIACHI FESTIVAL 2026.
- Students may compete with only one mariachi ensemble and must be registered under one school.
- If your school has only one mariachi, the group must compete at Varsity level.
- Middle School students may compete at the High School level, but not vice-versa. Middle School and High School students may compete with only one mariachi ensemble.
- Please be ready at least thirty minutes before scheduled competition time.
