The South Texas Mariachi Festival is back for a second year with an exciting weekend of workshops, competitions, clinicians, and special guests, including: Alberto “Beto” Jiménez Maeda, Jonathan D. Clark, Josué “Eddy” López, Antonio “Tony” Zúñiga, Nereida García, Vanessa Alonzo, and Mariachi Aztlán with Chamber Orchestra.

This year, we are paying tribute to the women pioneers and icons of La Canción Ranchera. These empowering women in mariachi include: Lucha Reyes, Amalia Mendoza, Lola Beltrán, Lucha Villa, and La Reina de la Música Ranchera (The Queen of Ranchera Music), Aída Cuevas.

Aída Cuevas’ impressive career has taken her country’s traditional music to distinguished stages around the world, and we are thrilled to honor her this year by inducting her into the South Texas Mariachi Hall of Fame.
